These terms cover your use of this website. They also summarize how our website projects work. If you hire us, your signed project contract sets out the specifics, and it controls if anything here differs.
Part 1: Using this website
Agreeing to these terms
By using this website you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
What’s on the site
The site describes our services, tiers and prices. We work to keep it accurate and current. Prices are in US dollars. A price or feature becomes binding only when it’s written into a signed project contract.
Who owns what
The design, text, graphics, video and code on this site belong to OC Light and Magic or to others who’ve given us permission to use them. You can view and share links to the site. You can’t copy, republish or sell its content without our written permission.
The typeface used on this site, TeX Gyre Schola, is used under the GUST Font License.
Booking a call
When you book a call through our booking page on Cal.com, please only give true information about yourself and your business, and don’t use it to send spam, malicious code or anything unlawful. Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to what you send.
Links to other sites
Links to other websites are there for convenience. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content or policies.
No warranties for the website
We provide this website “as is.” We don’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. This section is about the website itself, not the work we do for clients, which is covered by your project contract.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses from using this website. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that the law doesn’t allow to be limited.
Part 2: How projects work
This is a summary. Your signed project contract has the full terms.
Who we work with
We build websites for established home-service contractors in Orange County, California: plumbers, HVAC companies, roofers and other trades.
Tiers and prices
We offer three tiers: Worth the Stop at $2,000, Worth the Detour at $5,000 and Worth the Journey at $10,000.
Each tier’s price is fixed, and each tier includes everything in the tiers below it. What’s included is listed in your contract before you sign. Hosting is included for 12 months after launch; after that you can renew with us at a yearly price we give you in writing, invoiced, or take your site to another host. Nothing is charged automatically.
SEO setup
SEO setup is included in every package price: Google Business Profile setup and optimization, page titles and descriptions, structured data, service pages and submitting your site to Google, at the level of your tier. It’s finished before launch, and the preview email we send for your approval shows the proof: screenshots, Google’s submission confirmation and live links. It’s covered by the same deposit and approval rules as the rest of your site.
Outside costs
Some sites need things from other companies that aren’t part of our price: a domain name, booking software, e-commerce platforms and payment fees, paid plugins, or stock photos, video and music. You pay these companies directly, in your name. If you’d like us to buy something for you, we tell you what it is and what it costs first, and you reimburse only what you approved. Nothing is bought for you without your written OK by email.
Optional monthly SEO plans
Separate from the one-time build. There are three plans (SEO Essentials, SEO Local Growth and SEO Full Service), each with a monthly performance report, at the monthly price we give you in writing. A plan starts only when you ask for it by email. It’s invoiced at the end of each month for the work already done, with that month’s report attached, and never charged automatically. Months already delivered aren’t refundable. Cancel anytime with 30 days’ notice by email. Worth the Journey includes the first 3 months of SEO Local Growth, starting at launch; after that it ends unless you ask by email to continue.
Optional add-on: Google AI Overview placement
$1,500. $500 is due at signing for the setup work. The other $1,000 is due only once your business appears in a Google AI Overview for at least one of up to 3 target searches we name in writing (for example, “water heater repair Irvine”), proven with a screenshot and the search link. If it doesn’t appear within 30 days of setup being finished, or if you cancel the add-on before setup starts, we refund the $500 in full within 5 business days. Google decides what appears in AI Overviews, and we don’t control it; once placement is proven, the $1,000 stays paid even if Google later stops showing your business.
Timeline
- The one-week clock starts when we have your photos and your answers to our questions.
- You see a first draft in 3 days.
- You review it, we make your changes, and the finished site is delivered within the week.
- Late answers, late approvals or new requests can move the date. We’ll tell you if that happens.
Approvals
We email you a preview link. You reply “Approved” from your email, and that counts as written approval. Written means an email from the address we have on file for you, sent to the email address on your invoice or as a reply to our delivery email. When you approve the finished site, the final payment is due, and the site launches after it’s paid. We keep your written approvals and the links to each draft as a record of what was delivered and when.
Payment
You pay at checkout or by invoice. We never charge a card on file without telling you first. Charges show on your statement as OC LIGHT MAGIC.
- Worth the Stop and Worth the Detour: 50% when you sign, 50% when you approve the finished site in writing, before launch.
- Worth the Journey: 50% when you sign, 25% when you approve the day-3 draft, 25% when you approve the finished site in writing.
- Google AI Overview add-on: $500 when you sign, $1,000 once placement is proven.
- Monthly SEO plans: invoiced at the end of each month for work already done.
Cancellations and refunds
- Within 24 hours of paying your deposit: full deposit refund. Work starts when the 24 hours end, or right away if you reply “Start now” by email, which ends the window.
- After kickoff, before the first draft: we keep a $500 kickoff fee and refund the rest.
- After the first draft is delivered: the deposit is earned and not refundable, and you get the work done to date.
- After final approval: all sales are final.
The full details are in our Refund Policy, which you agree to at checkout and which is linked on every invoice.
Results
We build a site designed to present your business well. We don’t promise a specific number of leads, rankings or sales, because those depend on many things outside a website.
Ownership of your site
Once you’ve approved the work and paid in full, the site’s design and content made for you are yours, as set out in your contract.
Part 3: General
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute about this website or these terms will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Changes don’t affect a signed project contract.
